Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Bikeway Counters
The City’s first two-way protected facility, the William Street Bikeway, was installed in 2019. Three others have since been added: on First Street, Division Street, and Miller-Catherine. Counters have been installed that count bikes in the bikeway and pedestrians on the adjacent sidewalk.
Please Note: 2023 does not reflect a full year of bike and pedestrian activity. The first counters were installed in August and September of 2023. September 2023 contains a full month of data for the Division and William counters. Data for the Miller/Catherine counter begins on September 5, 2023 in the afternoon. A fourth counter, located on First St., was installed on October 2, 2024.
Bike count data does not include scooters.

AAPD Crime Dashboard
This dashboard shows year-to-date crime statistics for the City of Ann Arbor, comparing values against the same time period in the preceding year. Users can analyze incidents by geographic region and/or NIBRS category (type of incident). Updated weekly, information subject to change based on investigations.
Traffic Crashes Dashboard
Analysis of crash types and frequencies. See also the "Traffic Crash Map" listed in this open data portal and context about both resources at https://www.a2gov.org/crashreporting.
Street Tree Inventory
Map of all street trees, with charts showing breakdown by species and size, as well as annual pruning and planting activities in relation to annual goals.
Pavement Condition and Planned Road Improvements
This Story Map contains a series of maps and charts that display pavement condition in relation to the city's goals, as well as current and future year street and utility projects that will improve pavement conditions.

Sidewalk Gaps Prioritization and Progress
Map and charts showing the gaps in Ann Arbor's sidewalk network, progress toward filling these gaps, and prioritization of remaining gaps.

Water Service Line Material
This dashboard & map track the inventory of water service line materials and the city's progress toward replacing galvanized water lines, as part of its compliance efforts under Michigan's Lead and Copper Rule (LCR).
Sanitary Pipe Inspections
Monitor the city's progress toward its annual goals of inspecting its sanitary pipes. Some of these inspections are done with cameras (CCTV), others are done acoustically. Change which fiscal year's progress is shown using the selector in the top-right corner.
Public Plan Map
Planning and Community Services Area permits are shown on a map. Applications to STREAM are plotted and can be filtered by year and type/category of permit.

Home Energy Score Locator
The Home Energy Rating Disclosure (HERD) Ordinance provides consumer protections by requiring that a Home Energy Score (HES) assessment be conducted before a home lists for sale. The HES Assessment produces a score and a report that will provide home buyers information on a home's potential energy use and costs. HERD makes a home's energy use easy to understand, like a miles-per-gallon/charge rating for a vehicle. Learn more on the city's HERD webpage.
The City of Ann Arbor Home Energy Score Locator is an interactive map where potential home buyers can locate Home Energy Score Reports by searching by address, square footage or score.
Ann Arbor Floodplain Map

Champion Tree Tour Map
Ann Arbor's Champion Tree program identifies and catalogs the largest tree of each species within the city. This map has details about each champion specimen and shows where they are located.

Map that shows location, current actions, and overall progress of city snowplows in real-time via automated vehicle tracking.
Real-Time Air Quality Map
The city has deployed a network of air quality sensors. The vendor, Clarity Movement, maintains a map that shows real-time air quality using this data. Type in an address, scroll, or share your device's location to see your area. Then click on any of the colored circles to browse other data locations. You can "follow" a location to sign up for email alerts that will notify you when air quality hits a certain threshold.
The city operates its own dashboard for exploring historical air quality data in more depth; search this catalog for "Air Quality" to find it.

All of the city's PFAS water sampling data. This data is also available for interactive analysis via the city's PFAS Monitoring Dashboard.
Air Quality Sensor Data
Hourly air quality data collected by the city. The dataset begins in 2022 with data from a few stations that used AQMesh-brand sensors. Then it switches over to a few Clarity-brand sensors, and finally expands to ten Clarity stations. We have combined the two datasets into a single one here. You can use the "vendor" column to differentiate.
The city's Air Quality Dashboard visualizes this data; we are also making it available here for further exploration.
Rainfall at City-Operated Rain Gauges
The City of Ann Arbor operates and maintains five tipping bucket rain gauges (5-min resolution) which are located at Barton Dam, South Industrial Hwy, Jackson Ave/Parklake Ave, University of Michigan North Campus Area and City Hall. This file contains the data from those gauges in 15-minute increments. Rainfall is visualized on our public-facing dashboards; we also offer the raw data here.
The city populates a record of 0.00 inches for the interval 11:45pm-midnight every day for each gauge, unless rainfall occurred during that time in which case the value is preserved. We also temporarily populate a record of 0.00 for the latest timestamp that each gauge has reported data from, to make it clear when the gauge last called in.
Since we began collecting this data in 2013, individual gauges have intermittently gone offline and/or reported invalid rain totals (either too high or too low). We have expunged some invalid rain total values for this .csv but these limitations of data incompleteness still affect this dataset.
Building Footprints
The building outline dataset for the City of Ann Arbor. Includes the average height of the structure.
Woolpert completed a semi-automated method for building generation utilizing new countywide 2009 LiDAR data and existing 2005-2008 orthoimagery. Buildings over 100 square feet were generated and run through a QC process. The final building polygons were developed for the entire ±709-square mile county area. The dataset has had all but those footprints near or within the City of Ann Arbor and contains an average building height. Updates are currently done with new construction plans and then verified using the newest aerial imagery.
Road Centerline
Each segment of road in Ann Arbor and the surrounding area. Includes the address range, material, road class, speed limit, direction, lane count, travel minutes, and more on each segment.
